Thank you for considering Harestreet Barns for your countryside stay! We're excited to welcome you. Here’s some helpful information and FAQs about our barns.
Check-in & check-out details
Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival and check-out is by 10am on the day of departure.
We operate a key safe system, so you can arrive any time after 3pm and let yourselves in. An early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request for £30.

FAQs
General
You can check our availability here and make a booking enquiry directly with us. We take payment by bank transfer or credit card and will email you back with all the booking and payment details. Alternatively, you can book through Airbnb or Booking.com but these will always be more expensive as the websites charge you extra fees.
The Dairy sleeps up to 4 guests in two double rooms.
The Parlour sleeps up to 7 guests in a double room, a triple room and a double sofa bed.
The Creamery sleeps up to 5 guests in a double room and a triple room

Yes we provide every guest with a large bath towel and hand towel. All beds are made with hotel quality linen.
We provide a change of bed linen and towels if your stay is longer than a week.
A self-catering barn stay gives you the freedom to enjoy your holiday at your own pace, with all the comforts of home, including a fully equipped kitchen, cosy living space, and private bedrooms.
We provide a few essentials to get you started, including a tea towel, dish cloth, hand wash, washing-up liquid, a few dishwasher tablets, and a supply of tea, coffee, sugar, and a pint of milk, although you may wish to top up with some of your own. You'll also find a few Nespresso pods (original style) to enjoy but feel free to bring extras if you're a coffee lover!
Towels are provided for all guests, and we supply your first few toilet rolls, though we recommend bringing extras to last your whole stay.
To keep things cosy, we leave you your first basket of logs for the woodburner — additional logs are available for £7.50 per bag delivered to your door.
We can offer you a high chair and travel cot upon request, subject to availability. Cots come supplied with a bottom sheet, but we ask you to bring your preferred bedding for your child as we understand that parents have different requirements for their children.
Yes, each barn has access to superfast wifi. Please use it responsibly.
For stays longer than a week, we offer a complimentary change of bedding and towels once a week. Additional cleaning services are available on request and are chargeable at £25 per hour, subject to the availability of our cleaning team.
We kindly ask that you vacate your cottage by 10am on the agreed day of departure.
Before leaving, please ensure the property is left clean and tidy, with all rubbish, recycling and leftover food placed in the outdoor bins (located in the wooden bin store). Please do not leave behind any personal items, including food or toiletries.
When you're ready to go, simply lock the door and return your key to the key safe just outside your front door.
Each barn has its own private terrace and garden area, separated by hedging to provide a sense of space and privacy. Please note that while the gardens are divided, they are not fully enclosed.
Each barn is equipped with its own barbecue for guests to enjoy. We kindly ask that you clean the barbecue after use to keep it ready for the next guest. For safety and environmental reasons, disposable barbecues are not permitted anywhere on the property.
Yes, you're welcome to arrange food and parcel deliveries to the barns during your stay — just make sure someone is in to receive them.
We’ll provide the full delivery address once your booking is confirmed, but please note that we cannot take responsibility for any missed or lost items.
You're welcome to have visitors during your stay, but please let us know in advance. For safety and insurance reasons, only registered guests may stay overnight, and we kindly ask that visitor numbers remain reasonable and respect the peaceful nature of the site.
Buntingford: Less than a 10-minute drive away, Buntingford has both a Co-op and a small Sainsbury’s for everyday essentials.
Walkern: Just up the road, you’ll find a local Budgens for convenient grocery shopping.
Baldock: For a larger supermarket, a Tesco Extra is within easy reach.
Ardeley: Church Farm Shop — a local farm shop for farm-produced goods.
We allow one to two well-behaved dogs in each barn for no extra charge. Please check the terms and conditions for our pet policy (section 11).

Yes we have two spaces for each barn in our off-road private courtyard.
Yes! We have an electric charger available for our guests to charge their electric vehicles during their stay. Please note, charging using our internal 13amp plug sockets is not permitted.
The nearest train station is in Stevenage which is a 15 minute drive away. Fast trains to London go every 15 minutes.
You can also get the 'Lynx Bus' directly outside Harestreet Farm barns. This is an on demand pre-booked bus service that links the villages to local towns. To book you need to download the app or go to their website and all journeys are £3. https://bookings.hertslynx.co.uk/login
If you have booked directly with us through our website, then please refer to our Booking Conditions for our cancellation policy.
If you have booked through Airbnb or Booking.com, please refer back to the booking and payment terms on the relevant site.
All of the Harestreet Holiday Barns are single-storey. There is one small step to enter each cottage, but otherwise the interiors are step free. The doorways are wide enough to accommodate wheelchair access.
Please note:
The Dairy and Parlour have walk-in showers with a small step in the smaller ensuites. The other bathrooms in these barns have a shower over a bath.
The Creamery only has a shower over a bath.
